1968 Cougar Kenz & Leslie Funny Car (Limited Private Production) 1/25 kit (fs)During the late sixties the racing team of Kenz & Leslie gained prominence in the world of drag racing as one of the pioneers of the modern funny car. In 1966, they were one of four teams to race the radically, new Mercury tube-framed fiberglass bodied cars which became the template for the funny cars of today. In 1968 they built a new car for national competition with a ’68 Cougar GT-E body named “High Country Cougar”. This car featured a Logghe chassis and was powered by a blown Ford 427 SOHC mill. Driven by Ron Leslie, the car held the NHRA national speed record for a short time which earned it the title of “The World’s Fastest Cougar”.
