1960 Pontiac Buttercup Bomb (1/25) Craftsman Series Promo Style kit. (Issued in 1969)

This kit has been inspected and is 100 % complete. The chrome is bright and fresh. The glass is pristine and untouched by tire burn. The kit was packed with two decal sheets a bonus which was not that uncommon in 1960's era kits. The parts have been sealed inside and the box resealed for protection and care.

The Flower Power Series from 1969 set out to exploit the 1960's Hippie generation. Woodstock, Rowan and Martin's Laugh-In, Peace and Love were all the rage. Flower Power, in contrast to the unpopular Vietnam War was the anthem of America's youth. There were six kits in the series, including a '62 Electra "Sunflower Power", a '63 Mustang Hardtop "Peony Pony", a '60 Thunderbird Convertible "Bird of Paradise", a '60 Mercury Hardtop "Magnolia Mauler", and a 1961 Galaxie "Ultra Violet", and this 1960 Bonneville Buttercup Bomb. As it turns out, this was the last issue of the iconic 1960 Pontiac. First issued in 1960 as an AMT annual with no engine, the only major change in the '69 issue was the implementation of chassis pins as opposed to chassis screws.

This kit is in great shape, but is not mint for one reason. It appears that someone started to paint the body, and then stripped off the paint. The engraving is all in tact and sharp, there just remains a little residue of the paint as you can see in the picture rotation. All in all a great way to pick up a nice unbuilt AMT 1960 Pontiac.

Own a beautiful piece of AMT, American, and Automotive History with this beautiful original 1960 Bonneville.

1962 Chrysler 300  (1/25) (fs)
The 1960 Chrysler 300 offered some important improvements over 1961 despite styling generally seen as retrograde. Improvements included the unit construction, an optional 400-bhp ram-manifold wedgehead V-8, standard bucket seats and center console front and rear, optional Pont-a-Mousson four-speed manual gearbox (fitted to no more than 15 examples), and a choice of axle ratios from 2.93 to 3.73.
The embossed deck lid "spare tire" was deleted on the tidier 1961 300-G, which introduced an upside-down trapezoid grille and canted, vertical quad headlights. A heavy-duty three-speed manual was reinstated as an option to replace the French four-speeder, and the 300 reverted to 15-inch wheels for the first time since 1956.
