These "grocery getters" have come a long way. What originally started as a vehicle to pick up passengers at the station, has today become an expression of the muscle car genre known as "long roofs". You won't even find a regular station wagon in a manufacturer's lineup anymore; they have all been replaced by the Sports Utility Vehicle or SUV.

In front of the "A" pillar, the '66 Chevelle Station Wagon is all muscle car. It was built with the same engine and drive train as one of the most potent muscle cars in history, the Chevelle. But you have to put the kids somewhere. The station wagon's designers stretched the two-door, four-seat car into a four-door, eight-seat wagon. Gone were the sport-spec performance and six packs, replaced by cargo capacity and diaper bags. This kit features a detailed Chevy big block engine, custom wheels and color decals.

Despite our pleas to Revell, stock wheels and tires are not included in this kit Most modelers that want to build a stock station wagon use the wheels and tires from Revell's 1966 El Camino which does include both stock and custom tires.
