Although it was much overlooked by consumer's during the mid-1960's, the Mercury Cyclone quickly became the car of choice by both stock and drag racers. The aerodynamics of the Cyclone body was the main contributor ti its selection as a race car, but with factory stock 1/4 mile speeds of just under 104 mph, the Cyclone as no slouch. 3419 Mercury Comet GT hardtops were produced during the 1967 model year for a price of $3,034.
