The 1978 Corette was the first ever Corvette to pace this most famous of races, the Indianapolis 500. In celebration of this occasion, Chevrolet took its 1978 Silver Anniversary Commemorative Edition and produced 6,502 Limited Edition Pace Car replicas for sale to the public.
