1965 Plymouth Barricuda 1/25 resin tran-kit requires donor models for completion. An AMT 1969 Barracuda is suggested as a possible donor kit for chassis and running gear. The AMT Hurst Hemi Under Glass works well as a glass donor. This trans-kit includes body with closed hood, front bumper grille assembly, rear bumper and roll pans, correct stock hubcaps, interior tub, dashboard and steering wheel. All other parts come from the donor kit. Chrome parts are not chromed. We carry a product called Alclad which can be used to air brush a nice chrome finish. In addition, all resin kits require a fair amount of cleanup to remove flash, and a good scrubbing is required to remove the chemical mold release agents that the caster uses to remove the models and parts from the molds. It is beyond our scope to provide education or assistance with building resin models. This kind of assistance can be found in Model Magazines, books, local Model Clubs, and on-line message boards. The pictures we feature on the web site are frequently of real cars or period ads and are not of the actual resin model. All that being said, resin kits are a great way to break away from the mundane and replicate cars that cannot be replicated any other way. The resin plastic on these models is conducive to real automotive lacquer paints in contrast to regular styrene models which are generally not compatible with lacquers without extensive priming. Resin trans-kits are only recommended for advanced builders.
