Issued in 1967 and made in Detroit, Michigan.
We received this holy grail kit in factory sealed mint condition from the estate of a collector. Since we have a shrink wrap machine and can re-shrink kits like this, we had to give it a quick look to see in the windshield cowl was in tact, it is.The instructions and decal were on top, to we gave them a look. The decal is perfect, but caution must always be exercised with old decals and some of kind of decal prep solution is always recommended. These kits are so perfectly packed that we did not disturb and more of the contents.
It is always exciting to open one of these flat box Johan kits from the 1960's. These are the Faberge eggs of our hobby. Each one is like a little jewel case with "over the top" engraving and detail. We have inserted one picture of the kit opened just so many can enjoy the view. The kit has been resealed and two standard precautions were taken to protect it. Cushioning reinforcement has been inserted under the windshield cowl. to protect it from breakage. Also, the tires have been bagged separately to protect the parts from tire burn. If you enjoy, rare model kits in mint condition, this one is a breathtaking beauty!
