Description

1969 Leeroy Yarbrough Mercury Cyclone Spoiler II (1/25) (fs)

When Jacksonville, Florida native, Leeroy Yarbrough signed on with Junior Johnson's factory-sponsored Mercury team, the pairing was an immediate success. The long-nosed 1969 Cyclone Spoiler II featured wither a 427 tunnel injected port/wedge head V-8 or a Boss 429 hemi head engine. Though it was widely acknowledged that the Mercury was superior to it's Ford counterparts in terms of velocity, Lincoln Mercury was not supposed to show up the parent Ford division. Thus, after the superior showing at the at the Motor State 500 in Michigan, Yarbrough was put back in a Ford for the balance of the season. None of the Mercury's driven by Leeroy are known to have survived to be on display for NASCAR fans today.

This kit features detailed engine and suspension and is complemented by a high quality authentic Slixx manufactured decal.
