Description

1970 Plymouth Barracuda 'The Snake' Don Prudhomme's Funny Car (1/24)

Released in 1970 and made in the USA.

This kit arrived to us in great condition. The body is factory sealed inside. We resealed the parts, which remain on the trees, tires, and glass, as well as resealed the box for protection and care. The chrome is bright but the box has sustained wear from fifty years in storage. Overall, this is a nice version Monogram's The Snake from 1970.

With a blown Plymouth 426 Hemi for power, veteran driver Don Prudhomme pops a wheelier and streaks to a 200-plus mph finish. The 'Snake' is a fiberglass bodied Plymouth 'Cuda sponsored by Mattel, Plymouth, and Coca-Cola. The model here is a precise reproduction in fine detail, right down to the twin drag chute packs and rear-deck spoiler.

You'll drool at the sight of all that detail when you prop up the body just like they do on the big ones. There's the tubular chassis and driver's compartment.. the big blown Plymouth 426 Hemi mill, the fuel and water tanks, the mag wheels with wrinkled slicks. Bright yellow body is one-piece, windshield is blue-tinted, many parts are chrome plated. Decals are authentic sponsors' insignia and racing stripes.
