On April 9, 1935, this magnificent custom built automobile was delivered to Rudolph Carracciola, the Mercedes-Benz Grand Prix team driver. With a record of 23 wins and 12 seconds, Rudy chose this 5 liter supercharged beauty for his personal transportation. In July, 1936, it was sold to an Italian count. A California collector bought the car in 1953 and transported it to the United States where it changed owners twice until it was purchased by a Los Angeles enthusiast who completely restored it in 1965-66. Since then it has collected numerous "Best of Show" awards.
