The Mighty Allison V-12---Would you believe one engine with the displacement of four T-429's? Meet the the fabled Allison V-12 which began its lengthy career as the heart of thousands of American fighter aircraft in WWII. Such fame fighters as the P-38 "Lightning" and the P-40 "Warhawk" relied on the Allison which produced well over 1000 horsepower in military "stock" form--and considerably more in the hands of subsequent hot-rodders. Long established as a powerhouse to be contended within unlimited-class hydroplanes, the Allison has found its way into Bonneville straightaway streamliners. The engine has also proven to be a tremendous performer on the drag strip where its massive torque can smoke the biggest slicks for the entire quarter mile. We recently found several more cases of this limited Model King exclusive, and do not expect to have them long at this price. While this kit includes the stock AMT 1969 Thunderbird body, it does not include a stock engine, stock interior, Stock wheels and tires, or stock chassis set-up.
