The Chevrolet Corvette C2 is the second generation of the famous sports car produced by General Motors. The C2 was produced for the 1963 through 1967 model years. Virtually all-new, the Sting Ray stunned the automotive world in 1963, blending world-class handling with unmistakable all-American style and performance. New for the 1963 model year were independent rear suspension and an optional electronic ignition the breakerless magnetic pulse-triggered Delcotronic, first offered by Pontiac on some 1963 models. All 1963 Corvettes had 327 c.i.d. engines. The 250 hp version was standard but GM offered optional variants that generated 300 hp to a maximum of 360 hp in 1963. The most powerful engine was the Rochester fuel injected 327c.i.d. V8, which produced 360 hp in 1963. The C2 generation Corvette became an instant classic, set sales records, and remains one of the most coveted of collectors' cars. This kit was a issued in 1990 by AMT as part of their Prestige Series utilizing the original molds that they tooled up in 1963. It can be built in either factory stock, drag, or custom versions. It features a very nicely tooled 1963 Corvette convertible body.
