From 1966 through 1970, Arnie Beswick kept up with advancing Funny Car technology as he ran his first all-fiberglass-bodied entry, a ’66 GTO, which was followed by a flip-top ’68 GTO and his first truly professionally built Funny Car, his ’69 GTO Super Judge that the Logghe Brothers constructed.
During this period, Beswick was competing in 75 to 100 match races a year and still using the stock-production Pontiac Super Duty blocks, wedge cylinder heads, and crankshafts, even though many of his rivals had switched to the more powerful and more durable Chrysler Hemis. “I always felt that you should run the same engine brand as the body,” said Beswick.
Misfortune struck Beswick in 1972 when a fire destroyed his shop, race cars, two haulers, and all of his equipment, which forced him to retire from racing and return to his original livelihood of farming. This Legendary kit from MPC let's us relive "The Farmer" at the peak of his glory.
